A deed of rectification or rectification order is an equitable remedy to correct a mistake or error in a document that does not appropriately reflect the parties’ initial intentions. If the parties agree to rectification, they may enter into a rectification order.  In these circumstances.  It is necessary to apply to the courts to request rectification of an erroneously drafted document in order to preserve the parties’ true intentions.
